Fashion Weeks Fall/Winter 2015 (I): The sunglasses we will be wearing
Every year, for a few weeks in February and March, the world’s four fashion capitals —Paris, Milan, London and New York— are transformed into exceptional showcases for the most renowned designers and firms from around the globe to present their latest creations. Journalists, critics, celebrities, bloggers, models and other industry figures eagerly await the opening notes of the shows to drink in the hottest looks for the following season.
At OnlyLens we are also very attentive to new trends, so were keen to study the Fall/Winter 2015 collections. We have paid special attention to creators who present sunglasses on the runways, making these accessories objects of desire months before they come on the market. So, if you want to know which models you’ll be yearning for next fall, take a good look at our selection and don’t forget to start your wish list now. That way, when these sunglasses arrive in our online store you can be the first to buy them!
PORSCHE New York Fashion Week
If you’ve never considered purchasing a garment from a fashion house named after a car, think again. Almost 100% black (except for some gray notes), the collection designed by Pierre Costin left everyone open-mouthed, thanks to futuristic cuts, refined tailoring and high quality technical fabrics. A brand to follow.
3.1. PHILLIP LIMNew York Fashion Week
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the brand, Phillip Lim presented a collection based on designs that reinterpreted his own aesthetic. The masculine-inspired pieces, defined silhouettes and layered asymmetries found in most of his shows were on this occasion a little more relaxed and fluid.
MARC BY MARC JACOBSNew York Fashion Week
The younger line by Marc Jacobs has grown up. Although in the last collection we could still feel the playful spirit that has always defined the brand’s signature looks, the outfits presented in New York this year included more sophisticated materials (like velvet) and more complex lines (like tulip skirts). Maybe the reason for this change is the edginess that the British creative team —formed by Luella Bartley and Katie Hillier— have brought to the firm since they started directing the brand last year.
MATTHEW WILLIAMSONNew York Fashion Week
Always sexy, always colorful, always fluid, the Matthew Williamson collections are created for a sensual, free-spirited woman who loves long silk dresses, fur and mixed prints. For his latest show, Williamson has chosen a curious starting point: the iconography and birthstone colors related to the signs of the zodiac. But his inspiration could have come from anywhere and we wouldn’t have minded, since all the pieces were as beautiful and personal as we were expecting.
CAROLINA HERRERA New York Fashion Week
Although Carolina Herrera is considered the epitome of classicism, we must admit that her collections are becoming a little more avant-garde each year. It is a great credit to the designer that she continues to innovate every season, adding more cutting-edge pieces, but without forgetting her aristocratic roots. Graphic and slightly psychedelic prints along with more structured lines invaded the catwalk, leaving us all longing for her next show to come in summer.
