Bottega Veneta History
Bottega Veneta was founded in 1966 in Vicenza, Italy by Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro. The name of the company was born from the "Venetian Shop" in Italian. The brand's major focus was on production of artisanal leather goods. A distinctive element of the company is the design of the leather weave, called Intrecciato. This very elemnt was used on the exterior part of Bottega Veneta products, and became closely associated with the brand. Thus, from Intrecciato Bottega Veneta's evolution has started. Nowadays it continues to be one of the most recognizable brand's elements.
By the early 1980s, Bottega Veneta was a favorite of the international jet set, and among brand's clients were such big names as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and the empress Farah Pahlavi.
