EMPORIO ARMANI
Milan Fashion Week Emporio Armani is the sporty urban line by Giorgio Armani, a brand that has its own distinct personality. What we saw in his latest show in Milan were very different pieces to those that we usually identify with the designer. On this occasion, the Italian legend has traded the classical minimalism that made him famous for ruffles and red, a color that rarely appears in his collections. This was a perfectly acceptable casual collection, but we must confess that we prefer the traditionally sober and monochromatic Armani by far.
FENDI
Milan Fashion Week Karl Lagerfeld has been doing a great job at Fendi over the last few years. Preserving the heritage of the fashion house, prints, accessories and a certain futuristic flair are still the three pillars of its creations, but the Italian firm has evolved under Lagerfeld’s tutelage. In Milan we saw a collection that expressed this longing for progress perfectly. Structured pieces, bold lines, oversized coats, geometric patterns and innovative designs in fur were the main components of a collection filled with originality. Sunglasses played an important role on the catwalk, so we’re guessing that Fendi shades are once again going to be big next fall.
PRADA
Milan Fashion Week Is it possible that the pieces that Miuccia Prada presented for next winter were even more typically Miu Miu than ever? We think so. Girly outfits, graphic patterns and witty details made a strong presence in the Prada show, and we applauded them. Unmistakably inspired by the sixties, the collection was playful, chic and very wearable. Besides the gorgeous sunglasses, we are convinced that the silver shoes we fell in love with will be among the most coveted accessories next fall.
